Local Event Planning

B2B CrowdPitch Events

During my time at Lendio as VP/Sr. Director of Franchise Marketing, we needed to identify cost-effective ROI-positive marketing strategies our franchisees could execute to develop leads for small business loans. Local events ended up becoming key. I developed and piloted an event concept called CrowdPitch (think Shark Tank meets small business lending). The event became a huge success for lead generation not only from small business contestants who pitched their business for a chance to win prizes but also from banks and lending partners who served as judges and could refer clients they turned down for loans. PR & Brand Building Events

During my time at Cousins Subs, I helped conceptualize and lead the event planning for several PR and brand building events including a graduation cap-toss event that awarded college scholarships to high school students throughout various regions in Wisconsin. A Leprechaun Launch event awarded a scholarship to students at the Milwaukee School of Engineering who could build a contraption to launch a leprechaun doll on a target at a distance as well a donation to the Muscular Dystrophy association. Our Polar Express event awarded lucky winners who submitted letters to santa at Cousins Subs stores the chance to take a holiday themed train ride to the North Pole (aka a decorated Milwaukee Amtrak station) to meet santa, reindeer and elves. Finally, there was our annual Moo-la-palooza event which I led the planning for during my time at Cousins Subs from 2005-2007. They still continue to run this now famous mooing contest at the Wisconsin State Fair which benefits the 4H Club of Wisconsin. National Corporate Cause Marketing Campaigns

During my time at Batteries Plus Bulbs, in 2013 I led and worked with our PR agency to conceptualize a cause marketing campaign to build brand awareness for Batteries Plus Bulbs, drive traffic and revenue to our stores, and generate funds to support USA Cares Jobs for Vets Program. More information can be found in this national press release. The event generated both local PR coverage for our stores and national PR coverage as well. I got to work with comedian/celebrity to record TV and radio spots for our stores. Overall the campaign met our goals. See some of the results we achieved below and some corresponding event videos. 

  • Generated over $250,000 in revenue for participating stores

  • Increased Batteries Plus Bulbs' social media following by 260%

  • PR garnered nearly 1,000 media placements, 28 million impressions, and $135,000 in equivalent advertising value

  • Raised over $150,000 for USA Cares Jobs for Vets Program

  • Overall the program had a 8:1 Return on Investment
